Artist's Comment: The first year I tried a summer arts festival I went to Edmonds. For the commemorative--I always print at such events as these--I collaged a little essay Matilda wrote with a snapshot I made of her while she was writing it. I plan to use her image as that of the Russian cabin boy in my story of the Emeralda's last voyage, so it is sometimes titled "Vladimir."

Artist's Comment: Vernon had a show of his glass art right after mine at Baker University. On a visit he saw the press that Walt Bailey displayed and decided he wanted one. Vernon's comment about Littleton's work on glass helped me show printing vitreographs on halfwoods.

Vernon ordered a Mini Halfwood Press, and he wrote: " As you may know Harvey Littleton has been printing from glass plates for several years now. I will never buy a big press, my studio is full of hot glass equipment, but would love to try some smaller glass prints."
