Bill Ritchie's art in the

Walt & Barbara Bailey Collection

Spiral, Triangle and Target

2004. Monoprint. Aquatint, engraving. Black on white with chine-colle'd digital print artist trading card and 1999 Emeralda stamp. Image 11 3/4 X 5 7/8 in. on 12 1/2 X 6 3/4 Arches. Signed lower right.

Artist's Comment: In my files I found a folio of trial proofs from a 1968 print called Target I. I attacked the print with a sander, holding the sheet down on the sidewalk outside my studio and ground the print down so it would blend with my new print and new images. My interest in Artist Trading Card, augmented with my artists stamps all came together in this gesture.
Walt Bailey exhibited his press in the "Small Is Beautiful" exhibit at Baker University in September, 2008. This image is from a video panorama of the show.

2008. Mini Halfwood Press No. 34. Ipe, walnut, ebony, steel, brass.
